I have available a very seldom seen Randall Model 3 – 5 1/2″. This knife was first introduced in 1945 and dropped in 1948. The condition of the knife and sheath is fantastic. The knife blade measures 5 1/2″ in length and retains the original Randall grind and finish. The blade has been lightly sharpened which could be the original Randall sharpening before it left the shop. There’s one extremely small pit mid way down the blade on the logo side that is almost to small to see and the other side of the blade has two carbon spots that are almost invisible. The knife is fitted with a small brass / bronze hilt which has red, white and blue spacers separating the hilt from the handle. The stacked leather handle is flawless and tight to the tang of the knife. To finish off the handle there’s three thick spacers and a peened butt cap. The left hand Heiser sheath is fantastic, the only flaw is a very minor surface cut on the keeper strap, that’s it. The stitching is intact, rivets are tight and all the snaps function perfectly. The rear of the sheath is stamped with the Heiser logo and 5 1/2″. The sheath houses a white Washita Made in U.S.A. stone. The stone is correct and fits in the sheath perfectly.
If Your into collecting early Randall Knives this is an extremely fine example of and early Hunter that was made for a very brief period with a 5 1/2″ blade. The condition of the knife and sheath cannot be topped. Thanks for viewing, Steve Zimmerman.
